The wrong thing to do was walk out of an international summit because the guy on stage did not speak his mother tongue.
Besides , I am inclined to believe that more people in that room spoke english than French.

I see no difference between Chirac's actions and someone from those fanatic kannadiga organisations who deface English signboards. Both are acts of insularity and monochrome thought (cant get rid of the word, sorry). Maybe the 3 piece suits help maintain an air of a sophicticated cultural unbrage.
